Supporters are especially welcome when Kent County Women’s Bowling Association Teams are playing other Counties either in Friendly matches or in the Johns and Walker Cup Matches. Kent v Surrey

 

at Canterbury BC

 

 

 

WIN for Kent 125 - 114  - Both Kent and Surrey had teams of players who were hoping to secure places in their respective John's teams - this was a very close match some large scores from both sides with Kent just managing to secure the match with an 11 shot difference. 

 

 

Wednesday 6 July

Kent v Hertfordshire

 

at Borstal BC

 

 

 

Loss to Kent 105 - 118 - The match was played at Borstal BC despite torrential rain in the morning the afternoon proved to be dry although a little bit windy at times.  At 15 ends Kent were in front by 7 shots, but failed on a couple of rinks to keep Kent in the lead, finally losing by 13 shots.

 

 

Friday 15 July

Kent v Middlesex

 

at Orpington Excelsior BC

 

 

 

Loss to Kent 101 – 113  A disappointing result with only two of the Kent teams securing a win against the Middlesex teams.

 

 

Friday 22 July

Kent v Suffolk

 

at Halls BC

 

 

 

Kent v Suffolk played at Halls BC on a very warm and sunny afternoon, Kent finally managed to secure a win 127 - 97 - all rinks played well although some of the players felt that a couple of the rinks were rather tricky and a challenge at times.

 

 

Wednesday 27 July

Kent v Sussex

 

at Hythe BC

 

 

 

 

Kent lost their match against Sussex by 31 shots; Kent 107 - Sussex 138.  The match was played at Hythe Bowls Club on a warm afternoon, Kent players included Judith Cullen and Debbie Cook both ladies for one reason or another had not taken part in the Friendly Matches for a while, both played well, icing on the cake for Debbie was to be on the top winning rink.

Kent v Berkshire

 

at Suttons BC

 

 

 

Details of our win: Kent 132 - Berkshire 87 - Despite the cold and wind Kent secured a win over Berkshire, both sides had potential John's Players in their teams.

 

 

Wednesday 18 May

Kent v Bedfordshire

 

at Shefford BC

 

 

 

Kent Won 115 - 100 - Bedfordshire and Kent both had players who hoped to be selected for the relevant County's John's Teams. 

 

 

Thursday 30 June

Kent v Essex

 

at Liberty of Havering

 

 

Loss to Kent 97 - 143  - Liberty of Havering Essex was the venue, despite a very good start and at ten ends with both sides 54 - 54, it was then a downhill slope all the way to the finish resulting in a very good win for the Essex ladies.

 

 

Wednesday 20 July

 Kent v Oxfordshire

 

at Thame BC

 

 

Kent lost by one shot 122 - 123 - The match was played in very good spirit by both sides, and on the 20th end it looked as if Kent would secure a win, but not to be, one rink dropped a shot that caused the loss.

Kent v Buckinghamshire

 

at Denham BC

 

 

 

 

Final result for county friendly matches: Kent 100 v Bucks 95. Thanks must go to Sheila Huggett and her team who had a wonderful win against the Bucks' ladies.
